Susan Peterson is an award-winning writer. She has authored five books, including her most recent, "Western Herbs for Martial Artists and Contact Athletes" and her novel "Clare," a story of Irish immigration in the early 20th century. She holds a Doctor of Philosophy in text theory from the University of Texas at Arlington.

She likes cooking, cats, playing Irish whistle, Tai Chi and karate, and computer Scrabble. Current research obsessions include the mind-body connection, gardening, and the difference between real food and the simulated food-like substances that most of us eat on a daily basis.
